#Labour4PR on the manifesto

It’s right that the Labour manifesto highlights that “trust in politics has been shattered” - and pledges to “deepen our democracy by reforming Parliament and devolving power to communities.”

Labour has already recognised in its policy programme that the flaws in our First Past the Post voting system are a cause of the distrust and alienation we see in politics. This must be addressed by electoral reform.

The manifesto sets out a vision for national renewal across all policy areas - and Keir Starmer is clear that restoring trust in politics is critical to delivering this programme for change.

So if Labour is serious about restoring trust in politics it should take action on electoral reform, review the current voting system in government, and build consensus for a new system that makes every vote count.

Good luck to all our candidates and to everyone campaigning to elect a Labour government on 4 July. Let’s get Britain’s future back.
