L4ND - Volunteer Agreement

To make sure we can work together in an appropriate, safe and effective manner, we require you to asent to the below agreement.

When you organise or undertake activity in the name of Labour for a New Democracy you agree to hold yourself to the following:

Data Protection

We only use personal data with the owner’s consent. We protect data from misuse. We ensure consent can always be withdrawn.

As a volunteer, I may have access to confidential or sensitive information, including personal information. Where I am privy to confidential or sensitive information, it is important to keep that information secure and confidential and use it only for the purpose for which it was provided, and only with the consent of the individual.

As a volunteer with L4ND I agree to the following:

  • I agree to the L4ND privacy policy as outlined at https://www.labourforanewdemocracy.org.uk/privacy

  • I understand that L4ND is the “data owner”.

  • I am acting in a voluntary capacity as a “data processor” for L4ND . The ICO says: ‘“data processor”, in relation to personal data, means any person (other than an employee of the data controller) who processes the data on behalf of the data controller’.

  • I will abide by GDPR legislation by:

    • Securely storing any sensitive data

    • Only using data for the purpose that it was collected for

    • Assist with subject access requests and the removal/correction of data

  • I understand that this duty of confidentiality is indefinite and continues after my involvement with L4ND has finished.

  • I understand that breaches of this policy could incur severe financial penalties for L4ND.

  • I understand that if I do not comply with this agreement, I may be asked to step down from my role within L4ND.

Working Culture

To succeed in shifting Labour policy on electoral reform, we bring together people from all aspects of the Labour movement. I agree to respect our differences, so we can successfully focus on achieving our aim.

By volunteering with L4ND I agree to the following:

  • When I agree to undertake an action, I commit to doing so to the best of my ability within the agreed timeframe.

  • I shall ensure that all contributions I make are respectful and constructive.

  • I shall respect and welcome people from all parts of the Labour movement who are looking to get our party behind PR.

Contact

By volunteering with L4ND I agree to the following:

  • To use the agreed method of contact to keep in regular communication with the appropriate member of the L4ND team - updating on the progress of my work.

  • I shall offer and listen to constructive feedback on my work, to help ensure the best quality of work.

  • I shall ensure that any work I create, that may be seen by members of the public, is checked by an member of the L4ND team before sending, posting or publishing.
